The Society for Learning Technology (www.SALT.org) and FGDLA form a strategic alliance, resulting a 2-day track (14 sessions) at the 2010 Interactive Technologies Conference.

FGDLA annual awards integrated with the ASTD International Conference & EXPO. FGDLA URL and domain changed to www.FGDLA.us. First Eagle award presented to National Defense University

FGDLA sponsors TechLearn's Workforce Performance Conference at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas and presents its annual awards.

FGDLA supports the 2005 TechLearn Conference by holding its annual awards presentation at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas.

FGDLA is a Co-host of TechLearn 2004 held at the Mariott Marquis in New York City. The FGDLA developed specific tracks focused on distance learning in the government and held its annual awards presentation at the conference.

FGDLA President CDR Ben Stewart files for 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax exempt status and registers the FGDLA logo with the US Patents and Trademark Office. The FGDLA sponsors the GovLearn Track and full-day, pre-conference distance learning primer at the Learning & Training Week Conference.

FGDLA sponsors the 2002 e-Learning Conference by organizing the GovLearn tracks and Distance Learning Demonstration Area and the Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Co-Lab Applications Center. Also, the FGDLA launches its first Town Hall Meeting and Reception at the conference.

The TeleCon East/IDLCON Conferences renamed to e-Learning Conference & Expo and the TeleGov tracks, sponsored by the FGDLA, renamed to GovLearn. Also, the FGDLA participates in the e-Learning Forum and sponsors multiple tracks at the 2001 TeleCon West Conference at the Anaheim Convention Center in California.

FGDLA sponsors TeleCon East/IDLCON 10 with TeleGov V and introduces the Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Applications Center featuring the Government Education & Training Network (GETN) and latest in ADL technology. Also, the FGDLA sponsors military/government application tracks at TeleCon 2000 at the Anaheim Convention Center.  This is the last of the TeleCon Conferences. Additionally, the FGDLA supported the Training & Technology in Government Symposium held at the Wyndham City Center, Wash., D.C.

FGDLA organizes and sponsors TeleGov IV at TeleCon East/IDLCON IX held in the Washington D.C. During the annual FGDLA meeting held at TeleGov, the FGDLA awards were expanded significantly. Additionally, the FGDLA creates and sponsors the TeleGov tracks at the 19th Annual TeleCon West Conference at the Anaheim Convention Center.  

The FGDLA develops and sponsors TeleGov III to be held concurrently at the 8th Annual International Distance Learning Conference (IDLCON). Additionally, the FGDLA endorses the 3rd Annual Government Learning Technology Symposium held in Washington, D.C. at the Gallaudet University Kellogg Conference Center.  FGDLA website transferred from InterVision to the UNITECH server. Also, the FGDLA creates a strategic alliance with the Government Video Magazine.

FGDLA.org website launched

AT&T Tridom becomes the first corporate sponsor and, on behalf of the FGDLA, registers the FGDLA.org domain name through InterNIC and establishes hosting services through InterVision. Constitution and Bylaws amended to add new officer positions.

The second annual meeting of the FGDLA was held at IDLCON VI with 55 individuals in attendance. Executive officers were confirmed and Standing Committees established. FGDLA founded

At the 5th Annual International Distance Learning Conference (IDLCON), the USDLA Board of Directors approved the establishment of a government chapter under the 501(c)(3) status of the USDLA. After approval by the USDLA, the first meeting of the gov't chapter was attended by 50 individuals whom approved the constitution and confirmed officers.  Later in the year, the chapter was renamed to the Federal Government Distance Learning Association.

Articles of the Constitution and Bylaws drafted

The beginning--at the TeleCon  XIII Conference at the San Jose Convention Center, the idea of forming a military and Federal Government association to promote, foster, and collaborate on distance learning was attended by 49 individuals.
